M42 2015-03-12

M42 (Orion Nebula)
2x120s exposure at ISO1600 with darkframes
70mm f/6 telescope on Celestron AS-GT mount guided with PHD guiding

Lots of noise in this image. More exposure time was not possible because of Orion going below horizon. :-(

Messier 35 2015-02-08

Messier 35 2015-02-08

Messier 35 in winter Milkyway. First shot with my new Skywatcher Star Adventurer travel mount. It works like a charm.

Shot with 50mm@f/2 Canon EOS 1000Da (modifiied without IR filter)

M13 2014-09-27

M13 2014-09-27

Small excursion yesterday night to the Odenwald. Here is the outcome. Very wet night. I had to dry the lens several times even than I used a dew cap. :-(

This is M13 the "Great Hercules Cluster". A globular cluster orbiting the center of our galaxy. I wanted to take photos of the Andromeda Galaxy as well but my laptop battery ran out of power before.... :-(

My rig:
- Carbon tube TS ED refractor 70mm f/6
- Canon EOS 1000Da (infrared filter removed)
- Finder telescope as a guide scope with a webcam (colour chip replaced with a high sensitivity monochrome chip)
- Celestron AS-GT mount

M101 2014-06-06

M101 2014-06-06

The nice face-on spiral galaxy M101. This is the first image I have aquired with autoguiding for longer exposures. Additionally I have used my new field flattener for the first time. This image consists of five 2-minute exposures at ISO400 with my astro enhanced Canon EOS 1000D(a).

What do you see in this picture?
